¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡Brief Introduction of Hangzhou Song
& Dance Troupe
¡¡¡¡Founded in 1959, Hangzhou Song & Dance Troupe
holds a staff of nearly 200 persons, most of which
graduated from artistic institutes of the whole
country. It consists of dancing, vocal music, orchestral
music, folk music, dancing esthetic artistic center,
Hangzhou Tenor Cultural & Artistic Company,
Hangge Cinema and all administrative departments.
¡¡¡¡We have created and performed many influential
operas and dance operas, to name one or two, dance
opera¡¶White Snake and Xuxian¡·,¡¶The Ode of the West
Lake¡· and dance poem¡¶The Sister Drum¡·. And dance
opera¡¶The Sister Drum¡·gained seven awards of director
and performance etc in Year 1997's National Dance
Opera Exhibition Performance and 2000's awards of
cultural new opera, director, lighting designing,
Zhejiang Province Luxun Literature and Art,¡°Five
Firsts Award¡±. In the Fourth National Dance¡¶Sole,Double,
Three¡·Competition, sole dance¡¶The Girl of Paper
Flower-cut¡·, double dance¡¶Misty Rain in the Broken
Bridge¡·and sole dance¡¶Ballad in the Loess Plateau¡·composed
and performed by us obtained second and third awards
of performance and creation. And our double dance
¡¶Red Lovers¡·obtained second and third awards of
performance and creation in the Fifth,¡¶Blossom Blow
and Fall ¡·won special award given by Appraisal Committee.
Our double dance ¡¶Night Drama¡· won Excellent Award
of ¡°Water Lily Cup¡±.
¡¡¡¡All these years, we have also created and staged
many operas, such as ¡¶The Man Whose Birth Is Forbidden¡·and¡¶Jiang
Sister¡·. Opera¡¶The Man Whose Birth is Forbidden¡·of
early 1970's has been popular and widely spread
among Eastern Region of China. To strengthen international
culture and art exchange, the troupe toured Japan,
Germany, France, the USA, Hongkong and Taiwan many
times.
¡¡¡¡In 1991, our troupe was commended by the Ministry
of Culture of the People's Republic of China
to¡°enhance management, boost creation and activate
song and dance performance¡±£»In the same year, it
was graded as ¡°First Class Troupe¡±twice by the Culture
Department of Zhejiang Province and twice chosen
as "Advanced Group" and "Advanced
Unit" who "invigorates the culture by
culture" of Zhejiang Province.
¡¡¡¡Recently, along with large sum of investment on
fixed assets and introduction of talents, general
strength of our troupe has been improved greatly.
We have hosted Awarding Evening Party of the Fourth
Sole, Double and Three Dance Competition of Cultural
Ministry, the Opening Ceremony of the Evening Party
of 1999's Ningbo National Scientific Technology
Exhibition, the Opening Ceremony of the Evening
Party of 1999's Taizhou International Martial Art
Festival and also attended grant evening parties
of CCTV, Hunan TV on occasions of celebration of
National's Day, New Year's Day and Spring Festival,
by which we have improved fame of Hangge in the
society and obtained excellent social benefit and
economic benefit.
¡¡¡¡In 2001, Head of our troupe Den Jinshan made a
special speech introducing sound development situation
of Hangzhou Song & Dance Troupe in recent years
and its fairly optimistic achievements on aspects
of promoting artistic production and exploiting
concerned market in the first national training
for heads of song and dance troupes nation-wide.
It was specially reported by China Culture Newspaper
by title of ¡°Providing you were the head of Hangzhou
Song & Dance Troupe¡±and won high praise of other
attended heads.
¡¡¡¡Development enabled Hangzhou Song & Dance
Troupe as a local troupe to have enjoyed high appraisal
in Zhejiang and even the whole country. We will
make a greater contribution to the prosperity of
artistic cause of socialism and the development
of Hangzhou Song & Dance Troupe.
